I gained an appreciation of animal diseases, their prevention and treatment; how to increase production in animal products and by products, how to value add to them to increase shelf life, production value and sales. I also learned animal husbandry, sanitation, biosecurity measures and overall running of a farm with animal welfare being considered.
Work & Experience
At Agrisol International in Romania, I support daily pig production operations by monitoring animal health, assisting with feeding and routine care, and maintaining high standards of animal welfare. I follow strict biosecurity and hygiene protocols by cleaning and disinfecting facilities and equipment. I assist with piglet care, routine treatments, and farrowing activities while following established farm procedures. I also maintain accurate records when required and work closely with my team to ensure efficient, safe, and productive farm operations.
I delivered lectures and practical training in animal health and livestock production to diploma students. I prepared lesson plans, training materials, and assessments while maintaining accurate academic records. I mentored students, evaluated their performance, and provided constructive feedback to support their professional development.
